Is there a better way to learn than to teach? And how special is it to learn from members of your own community, and to imagine yourself following in their footsteps?

CAPTS is "near-peer" program where high school students learn science, communication presentation and teaching skills and then put their newfound knowledge to work by teaching Science Labs to K-5 classrooms.  The "Science Captains", aka the high school students serve as role models and leaders for younger students in their communities.
